The facial features are rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of the Veis workshop. The legend ΥΕΛΗΤΩΝ appears in Greek characters in the right field, identifying the coin as an issue of the citizens of Velia. A small ethnic symbol or control mark is visible near the neckline in the lower field.

背面描述	A lion crouching and springing to the left, rendered in vigorous high relief with musculature finely detailed; the mane is elaborately worked with incised curling locks, and the open jaws display bared teeth. A retrograde Greek letter Beta (Β) appears as a control mark in the upper field above the lion's back.
