| Obverse description | Facing head of Helios turned three-quarters to the right, rendered in high relief in the fine Rhodian artistic tradition. The solar deity's youthful, idealized visage is framed by luxuriant wavy hair radiating outward in thick, flowing locks, evoking the god's radiant nature. The facial modeling is of exceptional quality, with softly rendered features including almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips. The hair spreads dynamically across the field, filling the flan with striking sculptural effect. No legend or border is present on the obverse. |
