Reverse description A lion advancing to the left with its right foreleg raised, rendered in a vigorous, naturalistic style typical of the Velia series. The Greek ethnic legend YEΛHTΩN is inscribed in the field, identifying the coin as an issue of the Hyeleatan people. Above the lion's back, the control letter Θ appears in the upper field, while the engraver's monogram ΚΛΕΥ is placed below the exergual line. The lion type is a hallmark of the Velia coinage and echoes Phocaean artistic traditions.
