Reverse description The river god Hypsas depicted frontally, head turned to left, stands in the field; in his raised left hand he holds an olive branch, while his right hand extends a phiale from which he pours a libation over a serpent-entwined altar to his left. To the right, a heron strides rightward with a selinon (wild parsley) leaf depicted above it, referencing the city's eponymous plant and its sacred river. The legend naming the deity appears in the field.
