Obverse description Facing right, the head of the nymph Parthenope rendered in finely detailed relief, her hair elaborately curled and bound with a broad taenia. She is adorned with a triple-pendant earring and a pearl necklace, both rendered with characteristic Campanian artistry. A bunch of grapes appears behind her head in the left field, serving as a secondary emblem. The portraiture reflects the advanced die-engraving tradition of late 4th-century Neapolis.
