Paros, though best known in antiquity for its fine white marble, operated a mint whose output remains poorly documented compared to its Cycladic neighbors. The didrachm series attributed to this period aligns with a broader Aegean monetization driven by the commercial demands of the Hellenistic successor kingdoms — Parian silver likely circulated well beyond the island through the marble trade itself, moving with the merchant networks that quarried and exported the stone.
The BMC Greek 13 reference places this piece within a small, relatively consistent group. Die studies on Parian coinage of this century remain limited.
