| Beschrijving voorzijde | Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters right, his flowing hair bound by a radiate taenia from which prominent straight rays emerge around the crown of the head. The modelling is bold and naturalistic, characteristic of early Rhodian coinage of the Diadoch period, with fine detail rendered in the curling locks falling behind the ear and along the neck. The field is plain, and no legend appears on the obverse. |
