| Obverse description | Radiate head of Helios rendered in three-quarter facing view, slightly turned to the right, depicted in the characteristic Rhodian style with deeply modelled, idealised facial features and flowing wavy hair radiating outward from the crown. The god's serene countenance fills the flan, with fine sculptural detail visible in the treatment of the hair and facial planes. No legend appears in the field. The artistry reflects the accomplished engraving tradition of the Rhodian mint during the early Hellenistic period. |
