Reverse description Heracles is depicted kneeling to right, his body braced as he draws a strung bow, the posture conveying dynamic tension. He wears the Nemean lion skin, a hallmark attribute of the hero. A monogram appears to the right of the figure as a mint or magistrate's mark. The entire composition is enclosed within a linear square border, a device typical of early Thasian silver coinage. The ethnic legend ΘΑΣΙΟΝ appears within the field, identifying the issuing city.
