| Description de l’avers | Head of Athena facing left, wearing an elaborately crested Attic helmet adorned with a prominent Skylla figure as the bowl decoration, the crest sweeping dramatically to the right. The goddess's features are rendered in fine high relief with carefully detailed hair locks escaping beneath the helmet. A neckguard with beaded border is visible at the truncation, and a small symbol appears in the left field. The die work reflects the accomplished hand of the Velia school, characteristic of the late Lucanian period. |

| Description du revers | Lion standing right in a powerful striding pose, head turned to face the viewer with open jaws and flowing mane rendered in fine detail. A serpent coils beneath the lion's forepaws in the lower left field, serving as a secondary symbol. A monogram composed of Phi and Epsilon (magistrate's symbol) appears in the upper field to the right. The ethnic legend ΥΕΛΗΤΩΝ is inscribed in Greek characters along the exergual line beneath the lion, identifying the coin as an issue of the citizens of Velia. |
