正面描述 Armored effigy of Saint Oswald facing right, shown three-quarter length, wearing a crown and elaborate armor with a decorative collar; the saint holds a sceptre in his right hand, with a small bird (a raven, attribute of Saint Oswald) perched before him. The cantonal shield of Zug is depicted below the figure. The circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition within a beaded border.

附加信息

Zug was among the smallest and least wealthy of the Swiss cantons, and its independent silver coinage of the early seventeenth century reflects the political pressure on minor states to assert monetary credibility during a period when the Thirty Years' War was beginning to fragment Central European trade networks. This Dicken — a denomination rooted in the thick-flan coinage traditions of the late medieval Swiss confederacy — represents one of the more short-lived cantonal issues, struck across just two years before Zug's minting activity lapsed again.

The HMZ reference places this among a tightly documented group with limited surviving population.
