The facial features are boldly modeled in the Hellenistic tradition, with a prominent nose, defined brow, and stylized beard. The abbreviated mint ethnic ΠΑΝ (for Pantikapaion) is disposed around the design, with Π to the left, Α above, and Ν to the right, in Greek majuscule letters.
