正面描述 Draped bust of Hermes facing right, wearing the winged petasus characteristic of the god. The hair is rendered in short locks beneath the brim of the hat, and the bust is slightly truncated at the shoulder. A caduceus with intertwined serpents is visible to the left of the bust, serving as a divine attribute. The portrait is executed in the Hellenistic tradition, with careful attention to facial profile and a prominent, well-defined jaw. The coin field is plain, enclosed within a dotted border.

附加信息

Amyntas came to power through Roman patronage — Mark Antony installed him as king after the Battle of Philippi, and he deftly switched allegiance to Octavian before Actium, a political maneuver that bought him over a decade of stable rule across a patchwork territory encompassing Galatia, Pisidia, and parts of Pamphylia. His kingdom was never a coherent ethnic or geographic unit but an administrative convenience for Rome, held together by his personal authority alone. When he died fighting the Homonadeis in 25 BC, Augustus simply absorbed the territory as the province of Galatia rather than appoint a successor.
