Obverse description Diademed head of Alexander I Balas facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition. The diadem is visible above the forehead, with curling hair framing the face. The portrait is set within a dotted border, occupying the central field. The youthful effigy displays idealized facial features characteristic of Seleucid royal portraiture of the mid-second century BC.
