| Obverse description | Facing head of Athena Parthenos, turned slightly to the right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head to reveal the face. The rendering is in a three-quarter facing style characteristic of Thessalian coinage of the early fourth century BC, with wavy hair falling loosely at the sides.
