| Aanvullende informatie |
Larissa dominated the Thessalian plain during this decade, and its coinage reflects a city at the height of its political influence within the Thessalian League. The 370s and 360s BC saw Larissa navigating the competing pressures of Macedonian encroachment under Amyntas III and internal aristocratic faction — the Aleuadae family still wielding disproportionate control over civic institutions, including, presumably, the mint.
Rogers 305 is a bronze fractional issue, rare relative to the silver drachms and hemidrachms that dominate Larissaean numismatic literature. Bronze civic coinage at Larissa was struck for local market use, with limited regional reach.
