| Obverse description | Bearded head of Hephaistos in left profile, wearing the characteristic conical pilos (workman's cap) of the divine craftsman. The facial features are rendered with a degree of archaizing solidity typical of Peloponnesian bronzes of the fourth century BC. The flan is irregular, and the strike is slightly off-center, leaving portions of the field uneven. No legend or inscription accompanies the deity's portrait. |
