| 裏面の説明 | Athena Itonia advancing right in full martial panoply, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet and a short chiton, her right arm raised and extended forward bearing a spear, her left arm holding a large round shield at her side. The figure is rendered in the striding, combative posture characteristic of the Itonian cult type widely used in Thessalian coinage. To the left of the figure the ethnic legend ΛΑΡΙΣΑΙΩΝ is inscribed vertically in two columns, and to the right a monogram appears in the field. The type directly references the sanctuary of Athena Itonia, the principal federal deity of the Thessalian League. |

Larissa Kremaste — not to be confused with the better-known Larissa on the Peneios — was a coastal Thessalian city whose independent bronze coinage becomes increasingly sparse after the Roman reorganization of Macedonia and Thessaly following 146 BC. The BCD Thessaly II series drew heavily from a single legendary collection, and attribution within this group remains contested enough that die links between issues are still being worked out in the literature.
