| Obverse description | Forepart of the winged horse Pegasos facing left, depicted in a vigorous rearing pose with wings prominently spread upward and forelegs extended. The figure is rendered in relief characteristic of fourth-century BC Asia Minor civic coinage, with fine detail visible in the musculature and feathering of the wings. A rhyton appears in association with the forepart, reflecting the local religious and cultural iconography of Skepsis in the Troad. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered bronze issues of this period. |
