Obverse description Laureate head of Herakles facing right, rendered with curling hair and beard in the archaic provincial style typical of late Hellenistic Lakonian coinage. The portrait is set within a plain inner border surrounded by a beaded outer border, occupying the full width of the flan. The strong modeling of the facial features and the lion-skin traces at the neck identify the subject as the hero-god Herakles, patron of the Spartan civic tradition.

Reverse description Upright club of Herakles depicted in the center of the field, flanked by the Greek letters Λ-A to the left and Φ-I to the right, serving as an abbreviated ethnic and magistrate reference for the city of Lakedaimon. The entire design is enclosed within a wreath of olive or laurel leaves tied at the base, rendered in relief with carefully detailed foliage. The composition is characteristic of late Hellenistic civic bronze issues from the Peloponnese.
