| 正面描述 | Laureate and bearded head of Zeus facing right, rendered in the archaic Macedonian style with a broad, heavily detailed beard and prominent facial features. The effigy is depicted in high relief, occupying the majority of the flan, with the laurel wreath visible atop the head. A beaded border encircles the design along the coin's periphery. The overall execution reflects the provincial Greek civic coinage tradition of Macedonia in the Hellenistic period. |

Amphipolis sat at the mouth of the Strymon River and changed hands repeatedly between Athens, Sparta, Macedon, and Rome before finally losing its autonomy to the latter after Pydna in 168 BC. This issue falls within the city's final century of autonomous bronze coinage, struck under Macedonian administrative influence but before Rome reorganized the region into Macedonia Prima — after which civic bronze issues from Amphipolis effectively ceased.
