Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Trajan facing right, draped with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder as seen from the rear. The portrait is rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of provincial Pontic coinage of the early second century. The imperial legend encircles the bust in Greek script, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The effigy conveys martial authority through the combination of armor and military cloak.
