Germa was a minor Phrygian city whose civic coinage under Commodus falls into a narrow window — the emperor's titles as recorded on this type, including the Germanic victory cognomen, bracket the issue firmly between his assumption of Germanicus in 172 and the dropping of certain titulature by the mid-180s. RPC IV.2 7274 is known from a very small number of specimens, and SNG von Aulock 13 represents one of the key reference examples that anchors the attribution to this mint at all.
