| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a pointed Gothic shield bearing the arms of Burgundy, composed of diagonal bend sinister stripes in relief, typical of the ducal heraldic tradition. The shield is rendered in a flat, stylized manner characteristic of late 13th- to early 14th-century hammered coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the shield, beyond which runs the ducal legend. The coin's irregular flan and variable strike are consistent with contemporary hammered billon production in the Burgundian mints. |

| Reverse description | Central cross pattée with splayed arms extending to a beaded inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters. The cross is bold and deeply struck in the Gothic tradition characteristic of Capetian-era French feudal deniers. A beaded inner circle surrounds the cross, beyond which the mint legend is inscribed in Latin capital letters around the entire circumference. The overall layout follows the standard type of feudal French deniers tournois of the period. |
