Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Roma facing right, rendered in a schematised Gallo-Roman style derived from the Roman republican denarius prototype. The helmet is prominently winged, with the wing rising sharply above the brow, and the facial features — eye rendered as a pellet, curvilinear chin and cheek — display the characteristic stylisation of late Gaulish coinage. Loose, voluted locks of hair emerge from beneath the helmet and fall behind the neck. The field is plain, with no legend or border.
