| Beschrijving voorzijde | A plain cross pattée divides the field into four quarters, with a small annulet positioned in the second and third quarters. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, outside of which the Latin legend is arranged around the periphery. The design is characteristic of the feudal coinage of Champagne, struck by hand with irregular flan edges typical of hammered medieval billon deniers. |
