| Reverse description | Central field displays a cross pattée within a plain raised inner circle, with annulets or pellets placed in the upper-left and both lower quadrants, and a trifoliate or palm-branch ornament in the upper-right quadrant formed by the arms of the cross. The surrounding legend, rendered in large, angular and somewhat irregular Latin capitals, encircles the inner circle and references the mint or title. The outer border repeats the characteristic chevron or wedge-shaped ornamental motifs seen on the obverse, consistent with contemporaneous Bohemian hammered silver coinage. The overall execution reflects the primitive but vigorous die-cutting style of the Přemyslid mint workshops of the early eleventh century. |
