Reverse description The enthroned Madonna, wearing an open crown and without a halo, is depicted seated facing front, holding the Christ Child — also without a halo — on her right arm. The composition is rendered in the late medieval style characteristic of Hungarian royal deniers. The mintmaster's marks appear in the field to either side of the central figure, divided by the image. The reverse legend identifying the Virgin as Patroness of Hungary runs along the outer circle.
