| Beschrijving voorzijde | Within a beaded inner circle, a crowned equestrian figure facing right, depicted in the Romanesque style typical of Bohemian bracteate-influenced deniers. The rider is shown in full regalia, raising one arm, mounted on a stylized horse shown in dynamic motion with legs extended. A partial Latin legend is visible along the outer rim, though largely worn or partially struck. |

Vladislaus II's reign saw Bohemia's political relationship with the Holy Roman Empire shift considerably — he supported Frederick Barbarossa's Italian campaigns and was rewarded with the royal title in 1158, elevating Bohemia's status within the imperial hierarchy. Cach 597 falls within the ducal period preceding that elevation, making it a product of a court actively angling for greater recognition.
Bohemian deniers of this period are notoriously difficult to sequence precisely within a reign, as documentary evidence for individual issue dates rarely survives.
