Vladislaus I ruled Bohemia under the permanent shadow of fraternal conflict — his reign was interrupted twice by his brother Bořivoj II, who seized the throne in 1107 and again briefly later, making stable minting activity during any given window of his rule difficult to attribute with precision. Cach 539 falls within the contested middle period, and the exact mint sequence remains debated among Czech medieval numismatists.
Deniers of this type are among the thinner, more fragile products of the Bohemian minting tradition, and flan cracking is a common structural issue rather than a strike defect.
