Beschrijving voorzijde Facing bust of the margrave depicted in a stylized, archaic manner, with a rounded head and schematic facial features set low in the field. Flanking the bust are two large decorative elements, possibly stylized eagle wings or foliate ornaments, rising upward on either side. Above the head appears a crown or architectural motif rendered in bold relief. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, typical of Moravian bracteate-influenced denier coinage of the early 13th century. The flan is irregular and shows characteristic hammer-struck surface texture.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central composition depicting a schematic architectural structure, likely a church or gate, rendered in a flat, symbolic style with two flanking tower-like elements. Two standing figures, presented frontally in a highly stylized manner, flank the central edifice, each holding what appears to be a staff or cross. A prominent pellet or globule appears at the base of the central structure. The design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a wide outer border densely decorated with raised pellets arranged in a regular ring, characteristic of Moravian denier production of the late 12th to early 13th century.

Aanvullende informatie

Vladislaus Henry ruled Moravia under a prolonged and uneasy arrangement with the Bohemian crown, holding the margraviate through a period of Přemyslid dynastic consolidation that repeatedly subordinated Moravian interests to Prague. His coinage reflects the decentralized minting characteristic of the Přemyslid periphery — thin, bracteate-influenced deniers struck to local standards with little coordination across the margraviate's mints at Brno, Olomouc, and Znojmo.

Cach 883 sits within a series where die-cutting quality varies dramatically between mint centers, and attribution of individual pieces to specific workshops remains contested among Czech numismatic scholars.
