Obverse description Juvenile draped bust of William Henry, Prince of Orange, facing right, with flowing hair. The effigy is rendered in a simple, provincial style characteristic of feudal French coinage of the mid-17th century. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery of the coin, interrupted by the truncation of the bust at the bottom. The field is plain and unadorned around the portrait.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering GVILHA.HENR.D.G.PRI.DO
(Translation: William Henry, by the grace of God, prince of Orange.)
