| Beschrijving voorzijde | A cross pattée is depicted at center, enclosed within a plain inner circle, with fleurs de lis or similar ornaments visible at the cross terminals. The surrounding field between the inner circle and the coin's edge carries the Latin legend identifying the issuer. The die work is characteristic of the hammered billon deniers tournois produced in the Latin East, closely imitating the Capetian French prototype. The overall design is bold and simply executed, typical of feudal coinage of the period. |
