| Obverse description | Central field displays an inverted trilobe (trefoil) flanked by two annulets, enclosing three charged compartments: an annulet in the first, a fleur-de-lis in the second, and a dolphin in the third. The design is rendered in low relief typical of late 15th-century French hammered billon coinage. The surrounding legend is struck along the irregular coin edge in Gothic characters. Legend varieties are known for this type. |
