Reverse description A bold central cross extends to the edge of a beaded inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters in the traditional Tournois style. The circular legend TVRO-NVS - FRAn-CIE* is interrupted by the arms of the cross, with the letters distributed across the four quadrants in Gothic script. The design reflects the long-established Denier Tournois type, recalling the châtel tournois convention adapted for French royal coinage. The flan is irregular and the strike is typical of mid-fifteenth century hammered billon production.
