Reverse description Crowned quartered coat of arms of the Gonzaga-Nevers dynasty occupying the central field, displaying the heraldic devices of the principality in ornate shield form. A royal crown surmounts the shield at top center. The circular Latin legend DENIER.TOVRNOIS. runs around the periphery, identifying the denomination. The overall design follows the standard tournois type of the period, consistent with French feudal coinage conventions of the early 17th century.
