| Reverse description | Plain or lightly decorated field bearing the bishop's name in a single horizontal legend across the center of the flan. The lettering is executed in a bold, somewhat irregular Roman capital script consistent with mid-eleventh century episcopal coinage of the Upper Rhine region. The flan edges are irregular and clipped, characteristic of the hammered production method of this period. |
