Svatopluk ruled Olomouc as a Přemyslid duke before seizing the Bohemian throne by force in 1107, having his cousin Bořivoj II deposed with Polish military backing. His deniers are among the more aggressively documented issues in the Přemyslid series, with Cach's enumeration drawing heavily on hoard evidence — most notably finds from Moravia where these circulated intensively. The dies show considerable variation across the issue, reflecting decentralized production characteristic of Moravian minting under the appanage system.
