Sobeslaus Slavník was a member of the Slavník dynasty, the powerful Bohemian noble family that controlled eastern Bohemia from their seat at Libice nad Cidlinou and minted coins with a degree of autonomy that put them in direct competition with the Přemyslid rulers in Prague. That rivalry ended violently in 995, when the Přemyslids massacred the Slavník clan at Libice — almost certainly the terminus date for this issue.
Cach 158 is among the rarer attributions in early Bohemian coinage, surviving in small numbers consistent with the dynasty's abrupt elimination.
