Obverse description Frontal draped bust of Saint Majolus rendered in simplified style, the figure truncated and cutting into the surrounding legend. A crosier is depicted over the left shoulder, serving as a principal attribute of the saint. The effigy is executed in the flat, schematic manner characteristic of feudal ecclesiastical coinage of the period. The legend, partially obscured by the bust, runs around the periphery of the flan.
