The cross is surrounded by a circular beaded inner border, with the circumferential Latin legend reading ROMA and SERGIVS PP distributed around the periphery within an outer beaded border. The design is executed in low relief with irregular flan shape typical of hand-struck Roman workshop production of the early tenth century. |
