| Obverse description | A plain long cross extends to the inner beaded circle, dividing the field into four quarters and interrupting the surrounding legend. A crescent is placed in one angle of the cross. The circular legend, rendered in uncial characters, reads ROGER CON, identifying the issuer as Roger, Count. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edge, typical of hand-struck medieval feudal coinage. |
