| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field displays a plain cross pattée with slightly expanding arms, dividing the field into four quarters, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross is boldly struck and occupies the majority of the reverse field, consistent with Carolingian-derived feudal denier types widespread in southern France. The surrounding circular Latin legend is separated from the inner device by the beaded border. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregularity of hammered medieval silver coinage. The overall design follows the standard anonymous feudal denier format common to the viscounties of the Languedoc in the twelfth century. |
