Obverse description Facing draped bust of Saint Majolus rendered in realist style, with ears visible and a crozier resting on the left shoulder. The effigy is depicted frontally with schematic drapery characteristic of 12th-century Romanesque die-cutting. The surrounding Latin legend is partially obscured by the bust, which cuts into the inscription at the periphery. The overall composition reflects the crude but expressive craftsmanship typical of feudal ecclesiastical coinage of the period.
