Obverse description Central field depicts two upright rods or crosier-like staffs flanked by celestial symbols, with three mullets (stars) distributed around the design. The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading the bishop's name. The strike is characteristic of 12th-century episcopal hammered coinage, with somewhat irregular flan edges and variable relief.
