Reverse description The Virgin Mary is depicted standing in full figure at center, crowned and draped, cradling the Christ Child in her arms. The composition is rendered in a stylized Gothic manner typical of late medieval Catalan billon coinage. A circular Latin legend reading +VIRGO MARIA encircles the central device, contained between two beaded circles. The flan is irregular and the relief is somewhat flat, consistent with hammered production of this denomination.
