| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears the letter 'S' flanked symmetrically by two horizontal crescents or half-moon devices, above a comb-like ornament with five upward-pointing teeth, evoking a stylized senatorial emblem. The overall design is rendered in low relief typical of hammered billon coinage of the period. A circular legend in Latin characters runs along the coin's periphery. The die work is characteristic of the Roman senatorial mint of the 14th century, with irregular flan shape and variable strike depth. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bold plain cross divides the reverse field into four quarters, with a small six-pointed star or mullet occupying the first (upper left) quarter. The cross extends to a beaded or plain inner circle, beyond which the circular Latin legend runs along the periphery. The design is characteristic of the Provisino type struck by the Roman senatorial authorities, with the hammered technique producing a slightly irregular strike. The low-relief execution and compact flan are consistent with 14th-century deniers of the Papal States region. |
