| Obverse description | A large fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, rendered in a bold Gothic style with three prominent petals rising from a horizontal base bar. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the circular Latin legend runs along the periphery. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, consistent with hammered medieval coinage of the region. |

Demmin held minting rights as one of the principal towns of Pomerania, though the city's coinage authority was always precarious — the dukes of Pomerania-Wolgast periodically reasserted control over local mints throughout the fourteenth century, and municipal issues like this one exist in part because of gaps in ducal enforcement rather than any formal grant of permanent privilege. The billon content of these small deniers varied considerably across the run, and die-linked variants catalogued separately by Dannenberg suggest production across more than one workshop or at least more than one die-cutting hand.
