Reverse description A plain cross occupying the central field, with each angle flanked by a triskel motif, the three-armed symbol traditionally associated with Trinitarian iconography, all within a beaded circle. The four triskels are evenly distributed in the quadrants formed by the arms of the cross. A circular legend surrounds the entire design between the beaded border and the coin edge. The overall composition is characteristic of the Cologne mint type of the early Salian period.
