Obverse description Crowned effigy of Emperor Conrad II facing right, rendered in a schematic Romanesque style characteristic of early 11th-century Rhenish coinage. The bust is draped and displays a prominent crown with stylized fleurons. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central device, with the imperial legend disposed around the periphery of the flan. The die work is bold but somewhat crude, consistent with hammered production at the Cologne mint.
